South Sudan talented Super Model Amelia Sky dies at 27

South Sudan: The famous model and winner of several international awards in South Sudan, Amelia Aboud Michael Sky, died in Juba on Monday, the family have confirmed.

As per her elder sister ‘Ebony Aboud’, after her arrival from Yambio, she was facing issues related to Anemia and throat infection.

She came back on boda-boda because there was no bus coming to Juba due to security issues, and it took three for her to reach Juba, and in that three-day process, she fell sick because of heavy rain and dust, said Ebony.

She also added that she died in Juba while being taken to the hospital.

Amelia was just 27 when she died, and the beauty queen reportedly travelled to Yambio four months ago when her father died.

According to Ebony, her sister went home to pay respects and build their father’s tomb, who had died in her absence.

Amelia has represented South Sudan in many international modelling competitions, where she won awards.

Amelia was Top Model South Sudan 2017. On July 14, 2017, she represented South Sudan at Top Model of World 2017 in El Gouna, Red Sea, Egypt & finished in the Top 10.

On March 5, 2021, she again represented South Sudan at Top Model of the World 2020 in Hurghada, Egypt. She was unchangeable.

On August 21, 2021, she represented South Sudan at Miss Supranational 2021 in Nowy Sącz, Małopolska, Poland. She was unplaced, but she was called the Top Model of Africa.

On April 2, 2022, last year, she portrayed South Sudan at Miss Environment International 2022 in Mumbai, India. She was second runner-up to Kayra Wouters of Belgium and was crowned Miss Biodiversity 2022.

She was 26 years old when she became Miss Environment International 2022 second runner-up.
