South Africa: IPL Auction for 2025 held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Nov 24 and 25, where the Proteas man were selected in different teams to play in upcoming league of IPL season.
The Indian Premier League auction event was observed for two days and classified 574 players into ten different teams and were set to pass under the hammer.
The final pool of 31 South African Proteas team saw a great bidding of Kagiso Rabada and David Miller who lead the pack in the marquee and set the base price of Rs. 2 crore.
Proteas pacer Kagiso Rabada is the highest selling player who got selected in Gujarat Titans for Rs. 10.75 crore. However, it was player Marco Jansen of SA who sparked the bidding war on Day-2 of IPL Auction 2025.
Considering the full list of IPL 2025 Auction for Day-2, under the category of Capped Batters Set-2, player Faf du Plesis of SA Proteas cricket team got sold for Rs. 2 crore to Delhi Capitals.
Under the category Capped All-rounders Set-2 Marco Jansen was sold to Punjab Kings for Rs. 7 crore, on base price of Rs. 1.25 crore.
For Capped Wicketkeepers Set-2, Ryan Rickelton was hired on base price of Rs. 1 crore by Mumbai Indians, whereas Donovan Ferreira on base price of Rs. 75 lakhs remained unsold.
Another player Gerald Coetzee was sold to Gujarat Titans for Rs. 2.40 crore under Capped Fast Bowlers Set-2 on base price of Rs. 1.25 crore. For Capped Spinners Set-2, Keshav Maharaj was the great choice on base price of Rs. 75 lakhs but remained unsold.
On Day-1, under category of Marquee Set-1 Kagiso Rabada was hired by Gujarat Titans on base price of Rs. 2 crore, for Rs. 10.75 crore. For Marque Set-2 David Miller was sold on base price of Rs. 1.5 crore to Lucknow Super Giants for Rs. 7.5 crore.
In Capped Batters Set-1 category, Aiden Markram also got selected in Lucknow Super Giants for base price of Rs. 2 crore.
Quinton de Kock got sold to Bollywood Actor Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs. 3.6 crore, that begin on base price of Rs. 2 crore, in Capped Wicketkeepers Set-1 category.
Another South Africa Proteas player who got sold to Kolkata Knight Riders was Anrich Nortje for Rs. 6.5 crore under Capped Bowlers Set-1 category on base price of Rs. 2 crore.
As per the sources, the next season of Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin soon from March 14, 2025.
