South Africa: Limpopo Health MEC Dr Phophi Ramathuba will lead a team of medical and dental specialists who are rendering services at hospitals in the Mopani District from 24 September to 01 October 2022.
The Rural Health Matters outreach programme stands in order to benefit people from disadvantaged communities. It is through this programme that rural hospitals increase local access & allow patients to focus on getting better rather than getting to appointments.
The team includes but is not limited to Paediatrics Surgeons, Ophthalmologists, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons, Radiologists, Gynecologist, Orthopaedics Surgeons, Urologists, ENT Surgeons, Obstetricians & Gynecologists, Maxillo Facial Surgeons, Anaesthesiologists, Physicians, Hand and Micro Surgery Specialists, and General Surgeons who spend the whole week clearing surgical and medical backlogs, transferring skills and expose specialists to the entire province.
The team of specialists will be stationed in the following hospitals :
* Letaba Hospital
* Van Velden Hospital
* Dr CN Phathudi Hospital
* Kgapane Hospital
* Maphutha Malatji Hospital
* Sekororo Hospital
* Nkhensani Hospital
The MEC will officially launch the Rural Health Matters outreach programme on Tuesday, 27 September 2022, at Sekororo Hospital at 11h00.
Media is invited to have their first hand experience at our theatres during this outreach programme, said MEC.
Moreover, the Limpopo department of Health is doing a lot for the community in the health sector and always tries its best to provide them with each and every health facility.
Yesterday, on 24 September, Dr Phophi Ramathuba led a team of departmental pharmacy staff to celebrate pharmacy month by educating learners on the use and safety of medicine at Masedibu High School at Seshego in the Capricorn District.
