Mauritius: The recreation programme ‘Vakans’, which consists of a series of leisure activities organised by the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation of Mauritius for all youngsters during the Easter Holidays 2023, was launched yesterday, by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, Mr Jean Christophe Stephan Toussaint, at the Blue-Bay Public Beach.
The activities will span up to Sunday, 23 April 2023. In a statement, the Sports Minister pointed out that ‘Vakans’ offered a range of fun activities to the Public and urged all youngsters to participate in the four Fun Beach Games that will be held on 10th, 12th and 13th April 2023 from 10h00 to 15h00.
He indicated that these will be held at the Belle Mare Public Beach, Mont Choisy Public Beach, Flic en Flac Public Beach and Blue Bay Public Beach, where various sports equipment, including canoe for kayaking, will be available.
Minister Toussaint encouraged all those who are interested in indulging in leisure activities to register online via the Ministry’s Facebook page and on the App Zens.
Other activities comprise:
- A Coastal Hike is to be held on Tuesday, 11 April 2023, from Tamarin Public Beach to Flic en Flac Outdoor Centre at 10h00;
- A Fun Games and Youth Concert on Thursday, 13 April, at Blue Bay Beach Arena from 12h00;
- And A visit to La Vanille Nature Park at Rivière des Anguilles from Thursday, 06 to Friday, 14 April 2023, at a rebate price of Rs 250.
- ‘Vakans’ will end with a Final of Regatta League and Musical Concert on Sunday, 23 April 2023, at Mahebourg Waterfront from 10h00.
