Opposition leader and Leader of the United Zimbabwe Alliance Elisabeth Valerio accused the government of ignoring their electoral promises

Gabon’s interim president has seized power in a coup a year ago and has barred members of his transitional government for spending holidays abroad.

Paul Biya’s time in power has been marked by a combination of political stability and growing discontent with his administration often criticised for authoritarian practices, including the suppression of opposition parties, considering the restrictions on press freedom and the use of security forces to maintain the control.

The new law entrenches the institutional and operational independence of IPID and makes it clear that the directorate must be independent, impartial and must exercise its powers and functions without any fear, favour or prejudice.

The American president has pulled out of the November elections, considering as the major reason, whereas the Zimbabwean president is in the first year of his second term, and there are campaigns going on demanding for him to take the third term also.
