Botswana: The Minister of Entrepreneurship of Botswana, Karabo Gare, presided over the Choppies Long Service and Excellence Awards held at the Gaborone International Commerce Park yesterday.
During the 6th annual awards ceremony, 250 employees were awarded honorary certificates for their outstanding service and ten years or more of service with Choppies. The employees were also acknowledged for their contributions to Choppies’ growth and success in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.
In his remarks, Karabo Gare congratulated all the recipients of excellence and long service awards for their hard work and well-deserved rewards.
“To you, the stars of the night, keep the service baton burning so that when you pass it on to the next generation of employees, the spark is still there,” he said.
Ladies and gentlemen, hard work will allow you to prosper beyond your wildest dreams, whether at work or elsewhere. The fact that you are receiving your 10-year excellence awards this evening demonstrates that your perseverance was not in vain.” He went on to say, “I believe that the award recipients tonight are a true reflection of consistently doing better over many years of service.”
Karabo Gare also commended Choppies Management and the Board of Directors for honouring and valuing their employees, indicating that such initiatives are a true reflection of Botswana President Dr Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi’s aspirations for mindset change. He also applauded Choppies for continuing to provide employment opportunities to Batswana, particularly to youth and women.
The Minister of Trade and Industry, Mmusi Kgafela, the Minister of Minerals and Energy, Lefoko Moagi, and Gaborone City Mayor, His Worship Austin Abraham, were among the dignitaries in attendance.
In addition, Botswana Minister of Entrepreneurship Karabo Socraat Gare also gave the keynote address at the Choppies Employees Long Service and Excellence Awards 2023.
