South Africa has selected 27-year-old Clinical Audiologist – Romanda Hombir as its representative for the 75th Anniversary Edition of Miss World. She has been crowned as Miss World South Africa 2026 under the country’s new License Holder Bokang Montjane-Tshabalala, who was a Miss World Top-7 finalist herself back in 2011.
The coronation ceremony took place on the occasion of Mandela Day on July 18, 2026 in an event that held recently at the Barnyard Theatre, Menlyn, Pretoria.

Romanda Hombir is a 27-year-old clinical audiologist, a motivational speaker and model from Mpumalanga. Besides this, the new Miss World South Africa is the founder of the Caring Purpose Foundation, which is a community initiative focused on improving access to healthcare, literacy, nutrition, mobile health screenings and skills development for underserved communities.
Her advocacy also extends to raising awareness on women’s health issues, mainly including endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and fibroids.
Being of Swati, Zulu and German heritage, Hombir has expressed her ambition to one day work with the United Nations to advance healthcare, education and nutrition access.

Her ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ project for 75th Miss World concentrates on making healthcare more accessible while empowering young people through education, skills development and community upliftment.
Reportedly, the foundation builds on work she has carried out for several years, including health screenings, educational programs and partnerships with local organisations serving vulnerable communities.

Romanda Hombir now begins preparations to represent South Africa at the 75th Anniversary Edition of the Miss World Festival in Vietnam beginning from August 09 to September 05, 2026. Contestants from across the globe with join her. She will carry South Africa’s hopes on the international stage while championing her mission of compassion, inclusion and lasting social impact.
According to Miss World, Hombir is no stranger to the competition. She was named second runner-up at Miss World South Africa 2024 before returning to claim this year’s national title. Her crowning has also prompted discussion on social media, where some users questioned her surname and heritage, drawing comparisons with last year’s public debate surrounding former Miss South Africa finalist Chidimma Adetshina.
