The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) organised a litter-picking campaign on 18 September 2026. The campaign was organised as a part of the 2026/2027 Community Social Responsibility (CSR) Plan for the PPRA. The litter picking initiative is being held along Maakgadigau Road in Gaborone West Industrial.
The officials have shared that the organisation has been organising such events annually in an effort to connect with the members of the community. The officials have shared that the litter picking initiative was joined by several members of staff from the event.
The officials have shared several images from the campaign on their social media and highlighted their delight in coming together for the beautification exercise.
The officials have shared that the campaign was supported by the employees from PPRA, GABCON. The Accountant General-System Support and the Ministry of Basic Education and Child Welfare – Technical Staff also came to the Maakgadigau Road in Gaborone West Industrial
The initiative will help in promoting environmental cleanliness and community responsibility. In addition to all the aforementioned partners, the campaign was also joined by Skill Builders Botswana and GABCON.
Both the organizations contribute a part of the refreshments for the participants of the litter picking initiative. The campaign also forms part of the activities being hosted to commemorate Botswana’s 60th Independence.
Additionally, President of Botswana Advocate Duma Boko has also made a call for regular litter-picking campaigns to keep the environment clean.
PPRA Senior Manager Strategy, Research and Policy, Julia Ditlhong delivered welcome remarks on behalf of the PPRA Chief Executive Officer. She highlighted the importance of environmental sustainability before starting the initiative.
The organisation has shared that the event aligns with the priorities of the government of Botswana. The officials have shared that all the partner organisations have been dedicated to serving the community through initiatives.
