Botswana, Gaborone: Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Culture Minister Tumiso Rakgare visited the Dinaledi Soccer Academy on Tuesday.
The purpose of the visit is to see the significant development that has been made for sports in Botswana. Several other dignitaries from Botswana joined the MYSC Minister Rakgare there, including representatives from BNSC and BFA.
The Minister toured the facility, appreciated its state-of-the-art facilities and praised the facility management for hiring qualified in Botswana to run the operations of the facility.
The Minister was welcomed by Dinaledi Academy President Arryl Ralebala and Academy Chairman Godfrey Ratlhaga, alongside other dignitaries from BNSC and BFA.
“This is beautiful; it will go a long way in unearthing raw talent, and the kids will hugely benefit as they get developed in such amazing facilities,” said Minister Rakgare.
The primary purpose of the visit was to assess the ongoing initiatives at the Academy and foster collaboration with stakeholders dedicated to the development of sports in the nation.
The official visit surpassed expectations, revealing the Academy as more than just a football ground; it stands as a beacon for unearthing local talent. Notably, the facility is proudly owned by a Motswana, highlighting the nation’s leadership in effecting positive change within the sports sector.
Recognizing the pivotal role such investments play in the growth of local football, the Minister views Dinaledi Football Academy as a testament to the significant strides being made. The commitment to supporting initiatives that elevate the sporting landscape remains a core focus for the Ministry of Youth, Gender, Sport and Culture.
The visit further solidifies the Ministry’s belief that with concerted efforts and strategic investments, Botswana will continue to lead in transforming the sporting scene. The call is for unity in the quest for excellence and the flourishing of local football, with the collective goal of shaping a brighter future for the nation’s youth through sports.
Moreover, Dinaledi Soccer Academy is now open for registration, and all age groups are welcome in the Academy. The Training session will start on Monday at 4:00 pm, and for more information, students can visit the official site of the Academy.
