Members of the general public, high level government officials and influential persons from across the country paid final tributes to former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Security Intelligence Services, Harold Seutlwetse Mogale. The people gathered at the Phomolong Memorial Park in Phakalane to pay their tributes to the fallen giant.
The members of the Police force have also recalled the years of service that Harold Seutlwetse Mogale has given to the community and people of Botswana.
The representative of the Police Service addressed the gathering. On behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Operations, Katlholo Mosimanegape addressed the gathered public.
In his tribute he described the late Officer Mogale as a visionary leader.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that the legacy of officer Seutlwetse Mogale would continue to inspire generations of police officers. The Botswana Police Service has also shared several images from the service where scores of people were gathered
The Botswana Police Service Representative said that Mogale was not only known for his distinguished career, but also for his work in the BPS as a calm strategist, mentor and patriotic servant.
The authorities have confirmed that the departed officer made a lasting contribution to national security in his years of service to the country. The nation has also extended their condolences to the family and friends of Seutlwetse Mogale for their loss
Deputy Commissioner Mosimanegape extended the condolences to the grief struck family on behalf of the Police Service. He also urged the family and friends to remain steadfast in their faith, drawing strength and comfort from the Lord.
Mogale’s career in the Police Service began in 1975 with the officer joining the then Botswana Police Force as a Cadet Inspector. He served in the country for more than 32 years and 11 months.
During his career spanning over three decades, he served in several higher ranks and served as Deputy Commissioner of Police starting in 2001. He retired from the Police service in this position in the year 2008.
