A high-level Brazilian delegation travelled to Zambia for a work visit and has expressed their interest in making investments in the country’s health sector. The officials have shared the the Brazilian delegation will be making investments in improving the healthcare sector of the country.
The delegation has announced that their investment will be focussed on pharmaceuticals, medical devices, digital health, clinical research and health innovation.
The officials have shared that the investment is being made in accordance with the two country’s cooperation. Zambia healthcare sector has seen significant support from international partners, bringing much needed relief for the people in the various countries
The delegation had been engaging with the health stakeholders of the country and paid a courtesy call to the Ministry of Health. The authorities at Ecosystem Solutions for Health in Africa (ESHA) had the opportunity to meet with the Minister of Health.
During the meeting, Chief Executive Officer Paulo Pan talked about the aim of the organisation in bringing their investment. He said that the delegation was exploring trade and investment opportunities tailored to Zambia’s needs.
Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary for Technical Services Kennedy Lishimpi welcomed the delegation and also appreciated the initiative. He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to achieving universal health coverage in the country.

The Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary for Technical Services Kennedy Lishimpi highlighted ESHA’s diverse portfolio in health innovation, pharmaceutical supply chains, biotechnology and digital transformation aligns with Zambia’s healthcare priorities.
Dr Lishimpi highlighted that modernising the health system requires embracing digital health solutions to improve data management, supply-chain visibility and service delivery, particularly at the primary healthcare level.
