Zambia, Chipata: Chipata City Council launched a clean, green and Healthy Campaign 2024 in Chipata on Sunday. The Local Authority is calling on city residents to participate in the cleaning, which is conducted every Friday.

The local authority said, “Together, we can transform Chipata into a clean, green, and healthy city, bearing in mind that a healthy city is a wealthy city.”

Moreover, Chipata Council Authority also served uncompleted and undeveloped stands/shops located in Sangulukani, Motel, Kapata, Modern, Chisitu and Saturday market that the Council intends to repossess all such stands/shops as they are a nuisance and pose a threat to the security of traders and neighbouring communities.

The Council hereby invites all occupants of uncompleted and undeveloped stands in the above-mentioned markets to visit the Office of the Director of Housing and Social Services Room 14 Old Civic Center Building and show cause as to why the same should not be repossessed on or before 29th February 2024.

Stand/shop occupants are urged to bring with them copies of their National Registration Card (NRC), Letter of Offer or Demand Notice that were issued by the Council and all other necessary documents that will show proof of ownership.

All uncompleted and undeveloped stands/shops that will not be claimed during the stated period will be repossessed and offered to other interested developers without further notification.

They initiated this programme to make the environment clean and healthy and to avoid any symptoms of Cholera.
