The renowned singer Christina Aguilera has come out in support of fellow singer Britney Spears amidst her conservatorship case in court. Aguilera took it to Twitter to extend her support to the singer and said whatever is happening with Britney is “unacceptable.”

On June 29th, Aguilera posted a throwback picture of her and Britney from when they were young on Twitter. She wrote, “These past few days I’ve been thinking about Britney and everything she is going through. It is unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live life as they wish.”

Supporting her peer Britney, Christina stated, “To be silenced, ignored, bullied or denied support by those ‘close’ to you is the most depleting, devastating and demeaning thing imaginable.”

Britney Spears has been in a legal arrangement since 2008, which prohibits Spears from doing or having certain things. Under the arrangement, Britney’s life is controlled by her conservators, which also include her father Jaime Spears. One of such prohibitions imposed on Britney did not allow her to remove an IUD from her body.

Addressing Britney’s wish to get the IUD removed and other controls over her life, Christina wrote, “Every woman must have the right to her own body, her own reproductive system, her own privacy, her own space, her own healing and her own happiness.” The singer continued, “The conviction and desperation of this plea for freedom leads me to believe that this person I once knew has been living without compassion or decency from those in control.”

Christina added, “To a woman who has worked under conditions and pressure unimaginable to most, I promise you she deserves all of the freedom possible to live her happiest life.”

“My heart goes out to Britney,” stated Aguilera.

Recently, Britney Spears appeared in front of the court and requested to be freed from this conservatorship and bring this legal arrangement to an end. Many celebrities, relatives and fans have come out in Britney’s support. Other than Christina Aguilera, Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline, her sister Jamie Lynn Spears, singer Justin Timberlake, have also supported Britney during her case.
