Cape Town: Member of the Mayoral Community for Community Services and Health – Councillor Francine Higham invited residents of the city to join the YouthStartCT Entrepreneurial Challenge. The programme is a great opportunity for all and especially for the youngsters between 18 to 35 years of age with existing businesses or business ideas who are looking for a boost to take their business to the next level.
The City of Cape Town completely supports the people who are interested in entering into the challenge. Higham cleared that they want all the participants to share their best entrepreneurial ideas for boosting employment in their local community. In exchange, they will provide training and development opportunities for the start-ups.
Furthermore, the overall winner will be given a chance to partner with the City of Cape Town on their official projects that benefit jobseekers and provide them long-term employment opportunities.
Considering this, Councillor Francine Higham said that she recently spent some time with the winner of last year YouthStartCT Entrepreneurial Challenge, and it was absolutely amazing to hear how the competition has impacted her, both personally and professionally.
“We have has hundreds of young people come through the doors in the past nine years, some with a business already in motion and others with nothing more than a dream,” added Higham.
According to her, YouthStart could be just a catalyst to shift ones future into high gear, so it is a great chance to register yourself into the challenge and present yourself.
YouthStartCT Entrepreneurial Challenge
It is a start-up programme for 18 to 35 years old who aims to contribute to skills development and innovation in Cape Town, as well as encourage entrepreneurship. The last submission can be entered by March 23, 2025.
Interested participants can enter into the categories such as Agriculture or Farming, Manufacturing, Information Technology (IT), Finance and Business Services and Tourism. Your business idea must show how it can be profitable and sustainable within one of the offered categories.
