St Kitts: The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew has officially launched the Cyber Nations Program 2025. The leadership, which was present at the event included the Deputy Prime Minister of the country, Dr Geoffrey Hanley members of the cabinet.
PM Drew described the programme as a cutting-edge cybersecurity training initiative. The programme will be implemented in partnership with Protexxa.
According to the leadership, Protexxa is a renowned Canadian cybersecurity platform and services company. Through the programme, the administration led by PM Drew wants to train the nationals in critical digital security skills.
The launch event for the programme was hosted on Tuesday in the presence of the federal cabinet, government officials, members of the ICT sector and other stakeholders.
The event was also attended by the people who would be participating in the training programme. The programme seeks train the residents in internationally recognized certifications and work-integrated learning opportunities.
The organization wants to get the people of the country ready for the rapidly changing field of cyber security. The Deputy Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffrey Hanley delivered a brief address at the event.
He reflected on the importance of the programme. He thanked the government of Canada for their support in implementing the programme. The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the programme was aimed towards making sure that the people of St Kitts and Nevis are ready for working in an increasingly digital World.
The programme will increase the number of job opportunities available to the people of the federation. He highlighted that through this programme, they are investing in the future of the nation.
Additionally, PM Terrance Drew noted that the programme aligns with the country’s Sustainable Island State Agenda. They want to create a nation that is not only technologically superior but also resilient.
The programme will help the nation open doors for several well paying careers for the nationals. At the same time, it is a priority of the government to achieve cybersecurity resilience and economic transformation through Cyber Nations Program 2025.
