Africa: The Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune District Municipality, Cllr Julia Lata Mathebe, together with MMCs Bella Kupa, Mariam Malatjie and Maleke Mokganyetjie, met with different stakeholders to establish a task team for the Loskop Dam to Thembisile Hani passing through Moutse Bulk Water Pipeline project.
The purpose of the multi-stakeholder task team is to play oversight, Project Management, oversee implementation, monitor and receive periodic reports, assess project progress and ensure feedback to communities on the progress of the bulk water pipeline.
Cllr Mathebe called on the members of the multi-stakeholders task team to have a common vision of delivering clean water to Moutse through this project.
“If you are interested in business or making money out of this project, then do not be a part of this task team; here, we are only interested in people who have the interest of the communities at heart. People who want to see water in their homes, not profit making. As business people, your meeting will come later, here today, and now we only care about providing water to the residents of Moutse,” Said the Executive Mayor.
The Multi-Stakeholders Task Team comprises members representing Youth Coalitions, Business Organisations, Civic Organisations, Organized Agriculture, Faith Based organisations, Taxi associations, and Traditional leaders. Etc.
The pipeline from Loskop Dam to Moutse will take 18 months to complete.
