Zambia: Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) General Secretary Reuben Kamanga paid a courtesy call to ZNBC Director General Berry Lwando on Monday morning. The motive of the visit was to discuss various wide range of issues that players are facing.

Kamanga, Head of Marketing Chibeza Ngoma, thanked ZNBC for the good working relationship with FAZ and hoped for strengthened relations in the new year that has a packed football calendar.

He congratulated the national broadcaster for securing rights for the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). He said it would enable millions of Zambians to watch the Chipolopolo at the continental showpiece.

“The AFCON is so dear to the hearts of our soccer fans; the importance of your gesture to show the games and bring them closer to the homes of many Zambians cannot be overemphasised, and we as FAZ are grateful for your efforts,” Kamanga said.

Furthermore, they also shared the schedule of the tournaments apart from the AFCON. She said, “The year will also be characterised by a number of tournaments such as the World Cup and Olympic qualifiers, and our teams are playing both at home and away. It is, therefore, imperative that we have such collaborations to plan well ahead so that we achieve our common goal of bringing these games to our viewers.”

Kamanga was confident that the collaborations would go a mile in strengthening the already existing relationship between FAZ and ZNBC.

The FAZ GS also extended a possible partnership between FAZ and ZNBC to show the Division One playoffs this season and beyond.

“The provincial playoffs, which bring together the best teams from each province competing to qualify for Division One, will now be better organised with a commercial objective in mind. We have signed a partnership with FREDROBIE, which will reposition the tournament and make it more exciting and competitive. We are confident these games will provide unique content for our viewers, which ZNBC can capitalise on,” Kamanga said.

And Lwando says the institution was happy to collaborate with ZNBC in many programmes.

“We appreciate you, FAZ, for coming through here; our target is to continue working with you so that we show as many games as possible to our audience. We will definitely work on your proposals so that we can actualise them for the benefit of the viewers,” Lwando said.

“We wish the Chipolopolo all the best in Ivory Coast.”
