Paris Olympics Farewell and Tom Cruise! What could be better way than this, to announce the next Olympic location.
At the closing ceremony of Paris Olympics 2024, Hollywood’s ‘Mission Impossible’ Star Tom Cruise handed over the Olympics flag to Los Angeles, bridging road to LA 2028.
Tom Cruise launched the road to Los Angeles 2028, by making entry in epic movie star style on Sunday, August 11, 2024. He jumped from the stage in Paris before the broadcast cut to a pre-recorded clip of him skydiving into Hollywood.
The clip was aired during the Paris Olympics 2024 Farewell ceremony, held at Stade de France. He walked through a crowd of fans and accepted the official Olympic flag from Los Angeles Mayor – Karen Bass and Simone Biles.
Cruise, then rode out of the event on a bike with the flag flying behind him. After that, from there, a pre-recorded segment showed Cruise motorcycling through Paris, boarding a plane near the Eiffel Tower and skydiving into the hills behind the Hollywood sign, where he symbolised the two ‘Os’ in “Hollywood” with the Olympic rings.
The Mission Impossible Star then, handed over the flag to Los Angeles Olympians, who led a group of fans to the Will Rogers beach celebration, where the band Red Hot Chili Peppers performance was staged.
With them, singer Billie Eilish, rappers Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre performed a mini-concert on a beach which was framed by the Azure Waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Expressing about his thrilling entrance, Tom Cruise said, “Though the skydive was pre-recorded, the jump into the stadium and motorcycle away were both performed live.”
Cruise also shared a post referring to the stunt on social media, where he shared a selfie of himself from the top of the stadium and wrote, “Thank you, Paris! Now off to LA.”
Paramount Pictures also shared a long note regarding the same, which was reposted by him. Considering the note, Tom Cruise wrote, “I’m incredibly proud of all that we’ve done this together. I look forward to sharing our next Mission!”
