South Africa: Acting Free State Premier, Jabu Mbalula led an Anti GBVF Peaceful March in Bloemfontein. The peaceful March was organized for the province on Wednesday with several stakeholders in attendance.
The Peaceful March was organized under the name of “No Violence Against Women and Children”. The event served as a call from government across public sector organisations and civil society. The leadership urged the stakeholders to take bold actions against GBVF.
Today’s march is but one of the many events which the province is hostunv with the aim of raising awareness. Gender based violence and femicide is a major cause of concern for communities across Free State.
The organization has confirmed that the events will be organised all over the free state province. The aim of the organization is to bring the society together to fight for GBVF free society.
The peaceful march was undertaken in line with the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children. Both men and women were part of the match which advocated for the call: No Violence Against Women and Children.
The participants of the karch were present at the scene in large numbers to extend their support to this cause. The march was an opportunity for the communities to come together.
During the march, the organisation wants to unite the communities. They want justice for the people who have been wronged by the system.
The leadership said that they would punish all people who have violated violate human rights of others, particularly women and children.
Free State Province is observing the 16 days of Activism against Gender Based Violence. The province launched the series of activities on November 22 in the presence of the whole community.
The aim of the programme is to make sure that the province can fight against the scourge of Gender Based Violence. The acting premier of Free State Jabu Mbalula said, “Ending the scourge of GBVF requires the efforts of the government, private sector, civil society and every member of society. It is the responsibility of all South Africans, to end a culture of silence around gender-based violence and protect women and children”
