St Kitts: The lobby at the JNF General Hospital has been renovated as part of the Cable Ltd public outreach programme. The official handover ceremony for the newly renovated lobby was hosted on Tuesday.
The renovated lobby was handed over to the Ministry of Health in a symbolic ceremony. The project which was part of the Cable Ltd 40th anniversary celebration community outreach, sought to give the healthcare institute a more welcoming look.
The new renovation was originally taken up in the final quarter of the last year. The stakeholders wanted to give the space a brighter and more welcoming color scheme.
The renovation also included better lighting, installation of television sets and better landscaping. The Prime Minster of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew was present at the handover ceremony.
Dr Drew handles the responsibility for the Ministry of Health. He has also worked with the JNF General Hospital for some part of his career as a former doctor.
The Prime Minster was delighted to symbolically receive the new and improved space after the renovation. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Cable – Patricia Walters was also present at the handover ceremony.
She highlighted the significance of the project for the people of St Kitts. JNF General Hospital is one of the biggest primary healthcare institutions in the country. All the community members come to the hospital for their healthcare needs.
In light of this, the lobby will help give a more welcoming vibe to the hospital premises. The officials have shared that the lobby will be used by all the people who come to the hospital. The organization wanted to make sure that all the people who visit the hospital have a pleasant environment.
The government of St Kitts and Nevis has also been dedicated to improving both the healthcare and infrastructure of JNF General Hospital. Dr Terrance Drew reflected on the significant water leakage issues.
The official said that they have been working with international partners like Republic of China Taiwan to solve the issue and rehabilitate the hospital.
Furthermore, the country wants to establish itself as a premier healthcare system within the Caribbean and that they have already come a significant way in a short time
