Zambia: In the northern province, minister of Youth, sports and Art Elvis Nkandu, a Kaputa member of Parliament, celebrated this Christmas festival with people from his constituency.
Minister Nkandu has donated food hampers to four communities, Kasepa, Malanda, Matobe and Kalanga, from the Kaputa constituency. He even donated commodities, including rice, sugar, cooking oil and drinks.
During the donation, Nkandu thanked the Kaputa constituents for their continued trust and confidence in his leadership since ushering him into office during the 2021 elections.
Nkandu said he always feels delighted to interact with his community, adding that he cherishes the love of the people in Kaputa and brings people in collaboration and unity with each other so that peace and dignity prevail in society.
Minister Nkandu also explained the New Dawn government’s achievements while acknowledging the challenges he assured had been addressed through these achievements in its proximity with the country’s debt reduction, providing more stability to the economy.
He said that the UPND government has carried out different economic activities that are of mutual benefit to the people of Zambia. Inflation has been reduced, debt contraction is under control, and significant investments from various global powerhouses have ensured growth in Zambian industry, the economy and infrastructure.
According to the African Development Bank, through various recovery measures by the UNDP government, Zambia’s GDP is forecasted to grow by 4% in 2023 and 4.3% in 2024. Diplomatic and financial relations with Western nations, such as the U.S. and the EU, have been massively improved, while healthy ties with China have been maintained.
He further appealed to the people of Kaputa to remain united and continue supporting President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND government that holds the vision of this country.
Meanwhile, Kaputa residents have commended their area members of Parliament for always remembering their efforts by donating different food humpers.
