Zambia: Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary for Technical Services, Kelvin Mambwe has expressed his delight in witnessing reduced absenteeism. More and more children are regularly attending school in the various communities of Zambia.
This development has been widely appreciated in the Ministry of Education as this points to a positive trend. The Ministry of Education has shared that they have been working hard to encourage children to come to school regularly.
For this reason, the government of Zambia has started several initiatives and also worked with several non government partners. The authorities are delighted to see the success of the initiatives such as Free Education.
Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary for Technical Services, Kelvin Mambwe said that various education policies such as free education have contributed to the positive development. He was proud to announce that absenteeism levels have drastically reduced in the country.
He made these remarks during his courtesy call on Chief Mpande of the Mambwe people of Senga Hill. Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary for Technical Services, Kelvin Mambwe met the traditional leader at his palace in Northern Province.
Dr Mambwe spoke about the rofn that the Ministry of Education through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has been doing. They have taken the initiative to construct classroom blocks to ensure that learners have better facilities.
Students should not be forced to access education in congested classrooms.
He also said that he is proud to note that the education policies by the new dawn administration are proving to be effective. They have received significant feedback from education stakeholders across the nation.
