Police of Africa have arrested a man who is blamed for having murdered his wife after knowing that she was cheating on him by using a secret Simcard.
His wife was identified as a Muhawimaana Fransina, aged 27, who was allegedly murdered by her husband, Nayebare Amon, 28 years old.
As per the police spokesperson statement for Wamala, Racheal Kawala, this incident happened in the wee hours of Tuesday at about 1:00 am at the coupls’ home in Kijubya village, Byerima sub-county, Kyankwanzi district.
According to the research, the couple has been married to each other for about three years, and they even have a girl child whose age is one and a half years. It is also reported that the deceased had two other children fathered by another man before getting married to the suspect.
Kawala says trouble ensued after the couple fought around 1:00 am over a sim card that Nayebare suspected Muhawimaana had been using to communicate with another alleged lover.
The man who was armed with a panga used it to cut the deceased on the head, breaking her skull and causing instant death. Upon receiving this information, our officers responded to the scene and documented the crime scene, said Kawala.
After knowing the news of the murder, police arrested the deceased husband for aiding investigations.
The officers also received statements from the relevant witnesses. The killer weapon (panga) exhibition has been recovered, and the deceased body examined.” Kawala added.
Kawala urged victims of domestic violence always to report to the relevant authorities to avoid such scenarios.
“We provoke the couples/victims of domestic violence to always report to relevant authorities like LCs and use our Child family and protection units located at all territorial police stations across the region. Inquiries are still ongoing.” Kawala said.
