During a press conference held to announce the agenda of the ‘Islands-Myth and Reality’, Mr Toussaint expressed gratitude to all the artists involved in the programme for sharing their knowledge and skills with local youths. According to the Minister, the programme is offering a platform for youngsters to indulge in leisure activities that will enable them to explore their hidden talents and acquire artistic skills.

The Sports Minister emphasised that the event would result in an explosion of creativity, talent and artistic styles. He also urged the public to attend the artistic events that will be held under the programme.

Mr. Soobhany, on his part, underlined that the international artist residency, the fourth edition being held in Mauritius, is supported by ESCALE and benefits from the support of the SPRAY association, based in Marseille in France as well as the support of the Ministries of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, and Arts and Cultural Heritage.

He announced that an exhibition will be held at the National History Museum in Mahebourg on 12 January 2023, while a concert along with documentation and photography of the exhibition will be held at the Caudan Arts Center in Port-Louis on 13 January 2023.
