Limpopo MEC for Sport, Arts and Culture, Ms Thandi Moraka, would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Banyana players from the province for recent achievements with the team.
The players Lebogang Ramalepe, Noko Matlou and Amogelang Motau are all playing a crucial role in the Africa Women Cup of Nations currently taking place in Morocco.
The team has won two out of two matches this is after beating Nigeria 2-0 in their opening game and overcoming Burundi 2-1 last night in their second group match. Banyana has so far qualified for the quarterfinals and will play in their last group game against Botswana on Sunday, 10 July 2022, at 10 PM.
The match will be televised live on SABC Sport, and Supersport and the MEC are making a call to all Limpopians to rally behind the team.
The MEC also congratulated Limpopo girls and boys participating in the National School Sports Winter Championships in Cape Town in the Western Cape who are coming home with medals. The Volleyball Girls U/14 team won 2-1 against KZN in the final and obtained position one.
The under 14 girls’ best setter out of nine provinces is Limpopo Team Captain Olly Makhubele, while Florah Molefe was voted as the best attacker. The bronze medalist Volleyball Boys U/17 made Limpopo proud too.
The chess Team is also bringing home two bronze medals. Another team will leave for Gauteng on Sunday for the second leg of the Championships.’

I would also like to make a call to all Limpopinas to rally behind Banyana on their quest to conquer the African continent,” MEC Moraka.
