Mauritius: The Ministry of Youth and Sports has organized a half-day National Seminar on Mindset Coaching targeting some 60 Officers of the Ministry.
The training programme was organized on Friday at the Helvetia Youth Hub in St Pierre. The event was organised under the theme of ‘Coping with stressful family and work life balance from a gender perspective’.
The officials have shared that it is the responsibility of the people of in the government to provide behavioural guidance. The seminar highlighted the importance of mindset building for the success of the people.
The Minster highlighted that the seminar was open for all the members of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The ministry deals with two highly intertwined sectors with most need for mindset training.
The fact that the ministers were organizing events to support education and awareness on the topic is a greater service to the community. This is because, the people dealing directly in these sectors can now understand mindset building and training.
The aim of the seminar was to promote self awareness among the members of the Minstry. The organization is encouraging self-discovery and growth by acknowledging the brain as a tower of control.
The seminar seeks to work on empowering people to control thoughts, regulate emotions, and raise their self- esteem, self-worth and self-acceptance.
The seminar was also a platform for getting people to learn to focus their attention and develop their potential and ways of behaving in situations of crisis. The resource person was the International Mindset Coach, Tejranee Ruhee.
The Principal Youth Officer of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Gillette Ernest delivered the opening remarks at the event. She highlighted that the Mindset Coaching was a type of therapy intended to help persons cope with their problems and stress issues.
She observed that activities such as this seminar are funded by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Welfare. The government regularly organizes these events to help improve the capabilities of the staff and enabling them to be more efficient.
The attendants of the event said that Mindset Coaching is a transformative skill that helps to unlock the untapped potential of an individual. The training is not only about changing thought patterns. It also deals significantly in reshaping the perception of reality and empowering a person to go beyond their boundaries.
Mindset Coaching also aims to help people accomplish their desired goals by embracing and envisioning an optimistic way of thinking.
