President Yoweri Museveni, who is also the commander in chief of the armed forces, has encouraged the police Presidental Guard (PPG) commander, Col. Charity Bainababo, in order to rank Brigadier.
On Tuesday afternoon, he declared the development through the message, and this is the single promotion made by the President.
When the media asked Brig Bainababo about the development, he simply said, “It is correct.”
Not only did Museveni encourage Bainababo but also reported that Brig Bainanano was appointed as the new deputy Special Forces Commander.
She now settles the position that Brigadier Felix Busizoori recently occupies, who was appointed as the acting commander of Special Force Command (SFC) after Brigadier Peter Chandia, who was the commander, was sent for a year’s course as one of the frontiersperson students of the Uganda National Defence College.
As her peers commonly refer her, Charity has risen so fast in ranks.
The last year 2021, April, during the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, she was among the 1300 other officers who were promoted by President Museveni.
She was accordingly promoted to the rank of Colonel, and after one year, she has again been promoted to the next rank of Brigadier.
However, some of the sources NewsInvasion24 learnt that the promotion is meant to align with her appointment as the Special Forces Command deputy commander.
However, it is still unclear whether she will hold the position as the Police Presidental Guard commander.
The Police Presidential Guard (PPG) is a unit under the Special Forces Command (SFC) whose role is to provide security to the First Lady and other significant persons in the country.
