Dominica: The Newtown Juvenile Football Academy Harlem United 15 and Under got a comfortable victory in their Quarterfinal matchup over BAA Sharks at the Almond Park in Dublanc today, Sunday, 5th March 2023.
Newtown Juvenile/ Harlem United dominated the match especially in the first half to Run out six goals to one victory. All six goals were scored in the first half of the play. The first goal was scored in the 11th minute, and the goals just kept coming until the first half ended.
Noah Sorhaindo, the Player of the game, had a performance to remember playing as the lone Center Forward. He used his skills to compensate for his small body size to keep the BAA Sharks defenders on their toes.
He scored a brace, one from the penalty spot and the other a well taken left footed strike from a Konrad Simon’s cross from the left. Angel Bellot continued his goal scoring form with one goal. Konrad Simon also got onto the score sheet, with the two other goals coming from Ajay Bellot and Medawik Garraway; all goals were scored in the first half.
BAA Sharks came out with a more physical approach in the second half; NJFA/HARLEM United made a number of changes to give much needed game time to the substitutes. This had an effect on the offensive play of the team. BAA Sharks pulled one goal back, denying NJFA/HARLEM a clean sheet.
Newtown Juvenile Football Academy wished congratulations to the Management Staff and Players onward to the Semifinal. Meanwhile, DA Sports VYBEZ of Dominica also congratulated the players and the team of Newtown Juvenile Football Academy on their victory in the Quarterfinal matchup by sharing pictures of the team on their official social media accounts.
In Yesterday’s match, the Youth Football team was the winner, and the match was held between Newtown Juvenile Football Academy and Portsmouth Football Academy.
