Nigeria: Usman Alkali Baba, Inspector General of Police (IGP), has ensured that there is no threat in the country for the upcoming general elections in 2023.

The reassurance came after a security threat analysis performed by international best procedures.

The (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba revealed this in the U.S.A during the United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UNCOPS) and his meeting with Mr Todd D. Robinson, Assistant Secretary, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, U.S. Department of State.

According to the statement given by Force PRO, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi said, “During the meeting, The main objective of the discussion is about improving support for the NPF training and capacity building programmes, and to support the training of tactical units deployed in the North East and other conflict theatres across the country.

They also discussed the preparation for the 2023 general elections and ongoing election security management training across the six geopolitical zones. Support for police recruit training in modern patrolling themes, such as forensic investigations, human relations, and cyber security, was also discussed.

Despite the two leaders discussing methods to increase support for the NPF, the Assistant Secretary applauded the NPF for its excellent work, achievements and hard work under the IGP’s leadership.

In order to advance policing services and leave the country with a desirable policing system, the (IGP) Alkali baba has consistently interacted with people and organizations to get the necessary ideas and resources to help him achieve his goal of recruiting a modern Nigeria Police Force.

The IGP, which is scheduled to return to the nation on Sunday, primarily focuses on improving the training of police officers and men, similarly emphasizing the development of advanced technology for better prevention of crimes and verifying evidence.
