South Africa: In order to deepen its ties with its sister city, the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality is hosting a delegation of six young male delegates from the City of Jacksonville, aged 12 to 17 years.
Acting Executive Mayor Bongani Mani said the visit is part of an ongoing collaboration between NMBM and Jacksonville. The young men have been in the city since Sunday, July 10, 2022, and will stay until July 16, 2022. “They are here to learn about the city, to see historic places, and to experience the deep South African culture, “he explained.
Their chaperone, Mr Muarice Edwards, reported that the young tourists were enjoying their stay and the cuisine, and he said that the “food tastes different and way better.”
This tour was inspired by the previous delegation that visited our city between April 17 and April 25, 2022.
Typically, the students travel to South Korea for an educational and cultural exchange program that occurs during their school’s summer break.
