Onengiyeofori George condoles with Akuku Toru LGA boss on father’s death

Nigeria: Executive Chairman of Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Onengiyeofori George, paid his respects at the funeral of Late Apianye-Sekibo I. He also condoled with the family of the departed soul Alabo (Deacon) Charles Enefa-a Wari Sekibo-Manuel.

The solemn funeral ceremony took place in Abonnema on Sunday. The Abonnema  serves as the headquarters of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State


The late Alabo Charles Enefa-a Wari Sekibo-Manuel is the father of the serving Executive Chairman of Akuku-Toru LGA, Dr. Rowland Sekibo. At his funeral, the late father of Dr Sekibo  was honored by a host of distinguished guests.

The guests assembled in the honor of the departed soul and prayed for his soul to find peace. The guests were sympathetic to the Executive Chairman of Akuku-Toru LGA, Dr. Rowland Sekibo for his loss.

They extended their support to the government official who was thankful for the support. One of the most noteworthy guest was former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chief (Barr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

His arrival at the funeral service of the father of Executive ChairmanDr. Rowland Sekibo was considered as a kind gesture on his part. He was received warmly by the people of the Rivers State, reinforcing the significant popularity of the politician.

The event saw the attendance of many dignitaries who came to pay their final respects and support to the bereaved family. The images from the final rites of the departed soul were shared on the social media.

The members of the community also had the chance to bid their farewell to the departed soul and commiserate with the grieving family,


The Asalga Council Executive Secretary also made his presence known at the event. Executive Chairman Onengiyeofori George expressed his condolences to Dr. Rowland Sekibo and his family.

He said he understood that this was a difficult time for them and prayed God to grant the departed soul a peaceful rest.
