Nigeria: The Executive Chairman of Asari Toru Local Government Area, Onengiyeofori George signed the 2024 Appropriation Bill into By-Law. The signing of the By-law was held in a brief ceremony held at his office in Buguma City on February 1.

The signing ceremony was hosted for the ₦6.8BN ‘budget Of Renewed Hope’, the LGA Chairman’s final Budget for the Local Government Area, during his first tenure.

The Executive Chairperson is currently serving in the last year of his first tenure. Accordingly, he reflected on his work throughout his tenure, his final budget as Local Government Area Chairperson.

He was confident that the Budget of Renewed Hope would enable his administration to finish strong in his first tenure. Further, the Council Boss assured Asalgans that he would finish all ongoing projects before his first tenure elapses.

He also announced that he would initiate new projects for the betterment of the LGA. Further, Council Chairman Onengiyeofori George assured that that he will not impoverish the Council through debts to either contractors or those who have served the Council.

The Leader of the Legislative Assembly, Opakirite Reginald Fynface, who was joined by the Clerk of the House, Gloria Ishikaku also said a few words at the event, The other esteemed guests who were present included Principal officers of the Council, Directors and some political appointees

The Leader of the Legislative Assembly revealed that the bill’s accelerated consideration and passage were a testament to the Executive Chairman’s good works and the cordial working relationship he has established with the Legislative Arm.

He said that, together with other lawmakers, they passed a vote of confidence in the Executive Chairman. This was a mark of how highly impressed and satisfied they are, especially in the area of quality projects initiated and completed in the last year.

He also assured Onengiyeofori George of the Assembly’s resolve to sustain the conviviality and camaraderie as they work hand-in-hand with the Executive to better the lot of ASALGA.
