St. Kitts and Nevis:Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew observes the official Distribution Ceremony for the new National Health Insurance Cards for Civil Servants, scheduled to took place on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The official ceremony is arranged at the Government Headquarters between 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Reportedly, the card collection will continue according to the alphabetical schedule. People are reminded to walk with a valid government-issued identification card when collecting it.
Considering this, Prime Minister Drew stated that a few years ago, he talked about the modern healthcare system, “A few years ago, I spoke about a modern healthcare system moving forward for the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.”
He added that on May 13, 2026 that vision takes another major step as the distribution of the new National Health Cards officially begins. Known as ‘Swoosh’ is no longer just a vision now. It is actually happening.
PM Drew recalled the moment and shared a video of him from year 2022. In the video clip he is greeting all and saying that, ‘SWOOSH’ – the sound of your health care card is giving you ease and a peace of mind when accessing health acres services here in St. Kitts and Nevis.
You simply need to swipe and go in the near future under a government that cares about you. Then in 2022 he said that SKNLP – the incoming government is committed to ensure that health care in the Federation is given top priority which of course includes making that ‘Swoosh’ sound a reality.
In the shared video, PM Terrance Drew said that he wants every person to have a health card. When they go to the doctor’s office, they will go with confidence and comfort. They will simply swipe their card and receive proper care.
Dr. Drew added that when they go to the pharmacy or hospital, they will also be taken care of properly. The hospitals will look and feel like private wards, where patients will feel comfortable while receiving treatment, resting and watching television as they recover. He also encouraged supporters to raise their voting fingers proudly and stand together with their neighbours in support and unity.
