South Sudan: (Office of the President) -His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit has bid farewell to the outgoing France Ambassador to South Sudan, Marc Trouyet.

South Sudan: (Office of the President) -His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit has bid farewell to the outgoing France Ambassador to South Sudan, Marc Trouyet.

President Kiir expressed a vote of appreciation to the outgoing Ambassador of France for the services that his government is rendering to the people of South Sudan. 

The President further commended the Ambassador for his contribution to strengthening the relations between the two countries and wished the Ambassador the best in his next assignment.

On his part, Ambassador Marc Trouyet expressed his satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between South Sudan and France. The Ambassador praised the President for the positive role he has played in developing and strengthening the areas of bilateral cooperation and consolidating the relations between the two Countries.

In attendance was the Minister of Presidential Affairs, Hon. Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin.


 


Who is Marc Trouyet?

Marc Trouyet has served as Ambassador of France to South Sudan since September 2019. Mr Trouyet has been a diplomat for the past twenty years.

He worked as Consul General of France in Toronto, Deputy Head of Mission of the French Embassy in Australia, and Deputy Permanent Representative to the French United Nations (UN) Mission in Rome. 

In Paris, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he led the Department for Democratic Governance. Once upon a time, he was the desk officer in charge of sustainable development in the United Nations (UN) division; and before that, he also performed as a project officer working on modernizing consular services.

Before joining the Foreign Service, Mr Trouyet carried various positions in the Paris City Council. Before that, as a young graduate, he conducted various research on town planning & urban issues.

In his studies, he is Graduate of l’Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA), Mr. Trouyet holds a Bachelor in Political Science (Science Po. Aix) & a Master in Town Planning (Paris-Créteil). 

Marc Trouyet is married and has three children. He is a certified diver, passionate about science fiction and jazz.
