Mauritius: A cohort of 323 graduates, received, yesterday, at the Trianon Convention Centre, their diploma and degree certificates at the second Graduation Ceremony of the Polytechnics Mauritius.

Students’ graduation from the Information Technology (IT) and Tourism cohort was graced by the presence of the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Prithvirajsing Roopun.

Addressing the graduates, President Roopun congratulated them for their achievement, which is the culmination of years of relentless efforts, dedication, perseverance and hard work. He also commended the parents, friends as well as the, mentors and staff from the Polytechnics Mauritius for supporting the students in reaching the milestone.

“As proud graduates in two important and booming sectors, namely IT and Tourism, I am sure you feel ready to embark on your professional journeys with enthusiasm and confidence”, he said, adding that IT has emerged as a driving force behind the economic development of any country and the tourism industry provides exciting career prospects and personal growth.

The President called upon the graduates to actively participate in the country’s economic advancement and embrace new opportunities while engaging in continuous learning and professional growth to thrive in today’s dynamic work environment.

The Ministry of Health and Wellness will recruit nursing officers who have a diploma from Polytechnics Mauritius or any other recognised institution locally on a permanent and pensionable basis in the coming months, highlighted yesterday, the Minister of Health and Wellness, Dr Kailesh Kumar Singh Jagutpal.

He was speaking during the graduation ceremony of the Polytechnics Mauritius’ graduates in the nursing field.

Highlighting Government’s investment in quality healthcare facilities, he spoke of underway projects such as a new Eye Hospital at Reduit, a New Flacq Hospital and a New Cancer Hospital. In his concluding remarks, the Minister urged them, as future leaders shaping the nation’s healthcare landscape, to work towards ensuring the well-being of all individuals.
