After the week-long informative and insightful work session, the Director of Army Human Resources, Brigadier General G.S. Soldaat, took to the podium to express her gratitude to all the role players and Human Resource practitioners.

In her closing address, Brigadier General Soldaat made reference to the theme that was specially crafted for the work session adapted from the newly introduced theme of the South African Army effective from 01 April 2023, which is “Refining and Defining Maintenance of Momentum Despite Adversity as a Critical Success Factor in Restoring the Dignity of the SA Army to its Rightful Glory”.

The theme for the week’s work session was “Shape the workforce of tomorrow by reviving Human Resources despite adversities as a critical success factor in restoring the dignity of the South African Army Human Resources to its rightful glory”.

Moreover, the wrongs, as well as challenges that were experienced previously, should not only be regarded as a learning curve, but the momentum should be maintained through improving all Human Resource systems and processes. She stated categorically that formations should have confidence in their level 4 units and empower them at all times.

“Ultimately, it is not about individuality but the greater collective that stands together to make a difference”, concluded Brigadier General Soldaat.
