Mauritius: The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultan bin Abdullah Al Angari, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, Home Affairs and External Communications, Minister for Rodrigues, Outer Islands and Territorial Integrity, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, today, at the New Treasury Building, in Port Louis.
In a statement, the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Mauritius deemed the meeting with the Prime Minister fruitful. He also conveyed to Jugnauth as well as to the Government and people of the Republic of Mauritius, the greetings from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.
Sultan bin Abdullah Al Angari extended an invitation to Prime Minister Jugnauth to visit Saudi Arabia in the near future and was awaiting confirmation of the date of the visit. “I believe this visit is very important to enhance the relationship between the two countries,” he said.
Moreover, Sultan bin Abdullah Al Angari thanked the Government of Mauritius for supporting Saudi Arabia regarding the candidature of Riyadh to host the World Expo 2030. The host country of World Expo 2030 will be elected by the Bureau International des Expositions Member States at the 173rd General Assembly scheduled for November 2023 on the principle of one country, one vote.
The Ambassador elaborated on the projects funded by the Saudi Development Bank in Mauritius and expressed his interest in their completion in the near future.
