South Africa Men’s Cricket team reached the final of the 2026 Namibia T20I Tri-Series after winning their fourth match against the Namibia Men’s Cricket Team. The match was held on September 4, 2026. The South Africa team won by 11 runs after scoring 228 runs in 20 overs for a loss of 4 wickets.
The toss was won by the Namibia Cricket team and Namibia chose to field first. Moreover the title of player of the match was once again captured by Lhuan-Dre Pretorius with his marvelous performance at the crease. He single handedly scored 101 runs in 53 balls, he also hit 5 fours and 8 sixes in the match.
Pretorius and Connor Esterhuizen opened the innings for the South Africa team and both shared the partnership of 156 runs. The team lost their first wicket of Esterhuizen in the 12th over dismissed by the Namibia bowler Gerhard Erasmus. Esterhuizen contributed 88 runs in 40 balls to the final score in which he hit 6 fours and 8 sixes.
Apart from Pretorius and Esterhuizen, Rubin Hernmann scored 26 runs in 21 balls. Namibia Cricket team bowler Jan Balt dismissed 2 wickets for the team. After the South Africa team finished batting, Namibia players Louren Steenkamp and Jan Frylinck opened the innings for the team. Steenkamp scored 61 runs in 44 balls and Frylinck scored 72 runs in 36 balls.
During the match, South Africa bowlers also put in a strong performance. However Namibia mounted a strong chase and scored 217/3 in their 20 overs, falling just 11 runs short of South Africa’s target of 229. Nqobani Mokoena took 2 wickets while Andile Simelane claimed 1 wicket for South Africa.
On September 3, 2026 a match was held between Namibia and Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe won the match by 5 wickets with 11 balls remaining. Following the victory, Zimbabwe remained in contention for a place in the final of the series. After the September 4 match Namibia and South Africa, Zimbabwe officially secured their place in the final match of the series.
Notably, the final match of the 2026 Namibia T20I-Series is scheduled to take place tomorrow’s September 6, 2026 at the Namibia Cricket Ground , Windhoek
