They appealed to the public through their official Facebook page in which they said, "Crime Risk-Free home parties "CheZelas". They also thanked the people who are thinking of hosting a New Year party this year. "For those hosting New Year's parties or "Chezela" at your residences, we sincerely thank you for your hospitality," said a Police officer. Zambia Police have instructed hosts to answer important questions before hosting any party. *As the host, have you conducted a pre-event security analysis of your home premises? *In terms of personal trust, how well do you know the guests you have invited and their respective guests? *Have you implemented access control measures? *Lastly, concerning convenient facilities, will all the invited guests use portable facilities, or will they utilize those within the main house? Remember: Safety and security start with you!! They also shared some of the safety tips for the public: When heading to the church for the cross-over service tonight, avoid walking alone. While attending the overnight church prayer or service, ensure that you park your vehicle properly outside and, lock it too, and remove all of your valuable and expensive things from the vehicle. And if any Patroling or Police officer stops you, do not run away. Avoid Consuming alcohol, especially while driving. Think about your neighbours when playing music at home, as it will not disturb the public tranquillity. Before having a stay in a hotel, make sure that it has a good rating and is secure for your family. also, declare all your valuables for safe custody. Zambia Police also shared some of the helpline numbers for public safety and a website where people can get help from the police directly by clicking the Help button. After pressing the button, police will locate them through their location.
