Botswana: In the ongoing Operation Kgomokhumo in Mahalapye and Palapye districts, 12 men aged between 20 and 35 appeared before Mahalapye Magistrate Court Maokatumo and Mogapinyane Customary Courts for various cases of stealing Stock.
Six (6) men Mooki Eresenotse aged 23, Letlhabile Earnest Mokokwane, aged 20, Goitsemodimo Ramotsei, aged 33, Otsile Nnonka, aged 32, Samson Joseph aged 35 and 24-year-old Pelonomi Lekula ali from Mogapinyane village appeared before Mogapinyane Customary Court yesterday (12/09/23) facing charges of stealing Stock.
According to a charge sheet read before the court, the sextet had between September 4th and 9th, 2023 in Leherwana and Sepenane cattle posts in the outskirts of Mogapinyane stolen some cattle, slaughtered them and supplied their produce to the local informal sector market for sale. They shall be back in the dock on September 21.
In yet another court case, Utlwanang Gabautiwe and Lesego Monthusi, both aged 24 and 20-year-old Letihabile Earnest of Mogapinyane also appeared before Maokatumo Customary Court yesterday (12/09/23) facing charges of stealing Stock.
Kgomokhumo operatives arrested the trio on September 7 at Rakgokwana lands on the outskirts of Mogapinyane after they were found in possession of the biltong of a donkey suspected to have been stolen. They shall be back on the dock on September 21.
Meanwhile, in Mahalapye, three (3) men aged between 22 and 35 appeared before Mahalapye Magistrate Court yesterday (12/09/2023), facing a charge of stealing Stock.

The Trio Kamogelo Tshipidi, aged 35 and Boitshwarelo Tshipidi, aged 22, both from Lecheng village and Kabo Monyasa of Shakwe village, are accused of stealing five (5) cattle belonging to one Nyainyai Nkwati of Mogome Village.
The cattle were stolen at Mogome on the 3″ of September and driven across to Shakwe village, where they were belled, restrained and kraaled by accused persons at Tshipidi’s cattle post. They shall be back in court on the September 19 2023.
