Ninety Students of St Kitts and Nevis have received scholarships from Prime Minister Dr Terrance drew to support their academic progress

St Kitts and Nevis: Ninety Students of St Kitts and Nevis have received scholarships from Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew to support their academic progress. The Prime Minister awards these scholarships every year to a group of deserving students.

The scholarships have been helping many vulnerable families manage the financial strain of educating their children. With ninety recipients for the 2024 edition of the scholarships, the most number of students to benefit from the Prime Minister’s initiative.

PM Drew is proud of the progress that the initiative has made over the past years and how it has helped many students achieve their academic goals. He shared several images from the handover event on their social media.

The 90 students received the scholarship certificates at the hands of the Prime Minister on Friday. He extended his best wishes to the students and urged them to work hard and make their nation and families proud.

Taking to his social media, he congratulated all the recipients, who were present at the handover with their families and guardians. He pledged that he will continue this project and expand it in  future.

At the same time, he highlighted that it is the responsibility of the community to help in the quality upbringing of children in St Kitts and Nevis. He urged the people of the federation to continue having a positive influence in the lives of the students.

St kitts and Nevis boasts a 99-100% literacy rate, which makes it clear that education is a major priority for the nation. The government and its partners strive to make sure that all the students have the support that they need in all stages of their academic careers.

Recently, PM Terrance Drew, along with his Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education attended a similar scholarship handover ceremony organized by the Republic of China (Taiwan).

The government of Taiwan extended the scholarship to assist deserving students in pursuing higher education in their nation. Notably, the people of St Kitts and Nevis have applauded Prime Minister Drew for his initiative and said that he was supporting the right cause.
