Botswana: Commitment to excellence is pivotal in service delivery, Jeremiah Senabye, the Senior Manager in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, addressed the Department of Corporate Services Performance Improvement Committee during the ongoing annual planning retreat in Kazungula yesterday.
Ministry of Trade and Industry Jeremiah Senabye said for the Ministry to pursue excellence, there is a need for skills development and mindset change as they review the performance plan for the financial year 2022/23 and the plan for the financial year 2023/2024.
The retreat gives the committee a chance to appreciate and provide input into the performance review of the previous year’s implementation cycle, takes stock of any new developments and priorities in Government Agenda and align them to the Ministry’s deliverables.
The Senior Manager of Botswana said the Ministry achieves some degree of success through the implementation of plans as well as providing strategic direction and defining the path to achieving organizational excellence.
Enhanced service delivery starts with responsible, responsive and accountable personnel. He emphasized the need to put accountability at the forefront of the service delivery processes to ensure effective and efficient programme execution of the Ministry mandate.
On her part, the Acting Manager of Botswana of Human Resources Management and Administration, Ms Tebogo Motlogelwa, said due to rationalization, there have been some changes in the Ministry’s Departments.
She said the Department of Trade and Consumer Affairs has merged with the Department of International Trade and renamed the Department of Trade Development, the Department of Industrial Affairs has been renamed the Department of Industry Development, Research and Policy Development Unit has been upgraded and now called Department of Research and Policy Development and Doing Business Unit also has been upgraded and now known as Department of Business Services.
