Zimbabwe is all set to host the Zonal Phase of the CAF African Football Championship. The Championship will be held from the 14th to 16th of December, 2023, at the Gateway High School in Harare, Zimbabwe.
As per the Update, Ten nations will participate in the second edition of the youth football tournament. These nations include
Madagascar
Botswana
Eswatini
Malawi
South Africa
Seychelles
Zambia
Namibia and Angola.
During the Match, Each nation will provide an under-15 boys’ and girls’ team. The boy’s competition will be played on full-sized pitches with 11-aside. The girl’s Tournament will be played on half-sized pitches with 8-aside.
Each match will last 20 minutes with a 10-minute break (half-time).
The competition will also offer off-the-field initiatives, affording an opportunity to aspiring young referees, young reporters, and safeguarding officers.
This Championship will give youngsters the chance to showcase their skills on the international stage.
The Tournament would allow teams to be composed of the best players from national qualifiers, elevating the competition’s standard.
Eleven members from Cosofa are qualified to participate. The Cosofa team will participate in the U-15 tournament to spot in the 2024 continental finals.
Reportedly, This time, The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the various CAF African Schools Football Championship positions.
The positions required to be filled for the December 2023 Championship are as follows:-
1. POSITION: HEAD COACH – CAF SCHOOLS NATIONAL U15 BOYS
This would be a short-term job.
The Job overview includes:-
• Shall be Head Coach of CAF Schools National Team U15 BOYS
Qualifications:
• Minimum requirement of a CAF C License
Added Advantage
• Experience in Schools Football
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a mandatory Safeguarding course and a police clearance check.
2. POSITION: HEAD COACH – CAF SCHOOLS NATIONAL U15 GIRLS
This would be a short-term job.

• Shall be Head Coach of CAF Schools National Team U15 GIRLS
Qualifications:
• Minimum requirement of a CAF C License
