Trenance Park, KZN: A 40-year-old man got injured while trying to stop an unoccupied vehicle that suddenly started to roll on Acacia Street. The incident happened in the Trenance Park area of KZN on Wednesday and resulted in a left leg injury for the victim.
A resident, who saw the whole ordeal contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre at approximately 11:34. He requested assistance for the victim who was trapped between his silver Renault Scenic and a low lying wall.
Reaction Officers and RUSA Paramedics were immediately dispatched and on arrival, discovered the male seated next to his vehicle. A neighbour provided First Aid prior to the arrival of RUSA Members and controlled the bleeding on his left leg.
It was established that the injured male was standing next to his vehicle when it started to roll downhill. He stood in front of the car and attempted to bring it to a stop. He was dragged a few metres before the vehicle knocked into a wall.
His legs were pinned between the vehicle and the wall. Neighbours rushed to his aid and pushed the vehicle off him after some of them saw the unfortunate accident.
According to the reaction officers, the victim sustained a laceration to his left leg. He was treated for his injury on scene but declined further medical intervention. The officials revealed that the suspect did not sustain any significant injuries.
The reaction unit shared some images from the scene. The front of the vehicle had collided with the low lying brick wall and had no visible damage. The people of the region were happy to know that the victim was not seriously injured.
Meanwhile, some social media users shared that they had similar experiences with the vehicle. One of the commenters claimed that this car is kak. Thank god I got rid of mine early this year.
