Dominica: The Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit has extended his best wishes to the President elect of the United States of America for his victory. Donald Trump, who led the United States of America from 2016 to 2020 has returned to the white house for another tenure.
The victory of President elect Donald Trump is historic and his supporters are celebrating the victory ever since the elections have been concluded. He is oldest leader to be sworn into the office of the President in the United States.
The world leaders have come forward to congratulate Trump and extended his best wishes to the president elect for a successful tenure in the office.
PM Skerrit took to his social media to extend his best wishes to the president elect for the execution of his new duties. The Prime Minister said that he was looking forward to working with President Trump to improve collaboration and work for the mutual benefit of the two nations.
Roosevelt Skerrit also conveyed the best wishes of the government and people of Dominica through his post on X. The Prime Minister hoped that the two leaders can come together and peace and prosperity of the nation.
President elect Donald Trump is only the second President in the history of the United States to be re-elected for two non consecutive terms. Previously, this happened in the tenure of Grover Cleveland who was elected in 1884 and 1892.
In both the cases, the Presidents left the white house for a single tenure after losing the elections. Donald Trump is set to swear into the role of the president on January 20, which is three months away.
The gap between the election day and swearing in ceremony has been prescribed by the US Constitution to allow a smooth transition of Power. After the inauguration ceremony, Trump will deliver his first public address to the people as their 47th president.
He will also officially move into the residence of the President, the White House and take over his duties after a ceremonial farewell to the previous holder of the office.
