South Africa: The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) appoints the new Director Defence Corporate Communication – Brigadier General Selinah Rawlins, who has officially taken the office on Jan 02, 2026. Rawlins is a seasoned communicator with a distinguished record in strategic communication and stakeholder engagement.
As Director Defence Corporate Communication Brigadier General Rawlins will be helpful in ensuring that South African National Defence Force conveys clear, accurate and reflective message of the South African National Defence Force, considering its values and mission.
She will ensure that their relationship will strengthen with personnel, media and the South African public. Rawlins takes over the role that was previously occupied by the Rear Admiral (JG) Prince Tshabalala.
Along with this, South Africa also observed the inauguration of the South African Military Health Service Brigadier Generals. The South African Military Health Service (SAMHS) Command Order Group is led by Lieutenant General Ntshavheni Peter Maphala who officially welcomed the newly promoted and appointed Brigadier Generals at the SA Military Health Service Headquarters on Friday, Jan 02, 2026.
On the occasion, two major people were appointed and handed over the responsible positions. First is the Colonel P.S.T. Rawlins who was appointed and promoted to the rank of Brigadier General. She assumed the position of Director Corporate Communication.
Secondly, Colonel S.N.N. Ngqakayi was appointed and promoted to the rank of Brigadier General. He will assume the position of Inspector General SAMHS.
Considering this, the SAMHS Command Council extends its heartfelt congratulations to the officers on their well-deserved promotions and appointments and wished them success in their new roles.

The force congratulated the officers and welcomed them for their new roles appreciating them for being excellent at their previous roles.
