St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew has acknowledged the youth of the twin island nation and applauded them for being a great inspiration. The young citizens are the future of the nation, and it is good that they are exploring themselves by bringing development.
PM Drew said that young people are doing big things and they are proud, “Young people are doing big things right here in St. Kitts and Nevis, and I am incredibly proud of them.” He added that as a government they are committed to create the opportunities for them. They deserve the platforms and the support systems that allow these young people to thrive.
He stated that the federation believe in their potential and will continue to invest in their ideas, their talents and their dreams. He believes that the future is bright and it belongs to the youth.
Considering this, Prime Minister Drew shared a video clip of him, from the recent held sitting at the National Assembly. He said that he is very proud that the St. Kitts and Nevis will have its own locally built electronic health record system that has withstood the highest scrutiny from the Pan American Health Organisation.
PM Drew further stated that he is very proud of the young people especially from the Robotics Association. He expressed that he wants to give them big shout outs and say to the young people that there are opportunities.
He urged them to leave crime behind leave violence behind. They should come and learn something , as there are opportunities for the multi-million dollar contract being offered would have been won by the robotics association. Imagine those young people that’s real money in real pockets changing real lives here in St. Kitts and Nevis. He is so proud of the young people who are providing benefit to the nation.
Recently, the Ministry of Environment, Climate Action and Constituency Empowerment has officially launched its Leaders for Environmental Action and Future (LEAF) Ambassadors Programme. This aims at fostering youth leadership in environmental stewardship. The initiative will be introduced while celebrating the Earth Day on April 22. It will mark a significant step in engaging young people in climate action and sustainability efforts across the Federation.
As part of their early activities, the ambassadors successfully led tree planting initiatives across several schools in St. Kitts and Nevis, with support from national and regional partners.
The ministry is fully committed to the belief that the environment is for everyone, and this programme is the greatest proof of that. They are also looking forward to work together and support these young people. They firmly believe that this new adventure will bring amazing and environmentally friendly successes. The LEAF Programme forms part of the broader objective of the government to empower youth while advancing its Sustainable Island State Agenda.
