The Edo State Police Command of the Nigeria Police Force shared details of recent operations carried out by its officers. During the operation Command arrested 10 suspects for violent crimes, neutralised one suspected kidnaper, recovered an AK-47 rifle along with 10 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, a Beretta pistol and 14 rounds of 9mm ammunition, and recovered two stolen vehicles.
In one of the operations, police officers arrested 32 year old Mohammed Manfred Abduramah on September 16, 2026 on the Auchi-Okene Expressway in Edo State. He was reportedly wearing military camouflage trousers and a vest at the time of his arrest. According to police reports, he was travelling from Warri, Delta State to Okene, Kogi State. During the investigation, police officers found out that the military uniform he was wearing had been stolen from a Navy officer based in Niger State.
Additionally, the Police command arrested a 50-year old man identified as Nicholas Nusa for the alleged abduction and sexual abuse of five young girls in the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area. Moreover, Eno Ikoedem shared the details of the operation with the media on the behalf of Patrick Daaor, State Commissioner of police.
Ikoedem said, “On 16th September 2026 at about 14:00 hrs, personnel of 195 Battalion, Agenebode, stationed at Okpella, arrested one Mohammed Manfred Abdulramah, 32, of Okene, Kogi State, along the Auchi-Okene Expressway for suspected impersonation”.
He further shared that the Command received information on the alleged abduction of five female children from the Ibillo/Imoga axis of Akoko Edo Local Government Area. He said, “Preliminary investigation revealed the children were sexually abused. He impregnated one of them, who went into early labour”. According to reports the victim lost the baby after surgery and the abducted five young girls have been reunited with their families and Nicholas Nusa will be charged in court upon conclusion of investigation.
Notably, Ikoedem encouraged locals to remain vigilant and shared information to the police when they find any suspicion in their nearby areas.
