Australia Tour of South Africa 2026 ODI series officially concluded yesterday September 30, 2026 at JB Marks Oval, Senwes Park in Potchefstroom. The 3rd match of the series was won by the Australia’s cricket team by 45 runs by DLS method. The Australia tour of South Africa 2026 ODI Series was won by South Africa with a score of 2-1.
The South Africa team won the first two matches of the ODI series. The innings of the third match was started by the Australia Cricket men’s team after the South Africa Captain Aiden Markram chose to field first. The Australia team scored 322 runs in 50 overs with the loss of 9 wickets. Australia team Captain, Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head opened the innings for the team.
Captain Marsh hit the half century in 42 balls aided by eight boundaries and two maximums. Highest runs were scored by Alex Carey, who scored 74 runs in 88 balls including fours 4s and two 6s. Carey was subsequently awarded the title of “Player of the Match”.
Moreover, the highest number of wickets of Australian players was dismissed by the South Africa player Corbin Bosch. He dismissed 4 wickets in the last match of the series. Other players who dismissed wickets of the Australian players were Gerald Coetzee and Lizaad Williams both the players claimed two wickets each. Bjorn Fortuin also dismissed 1 wickets in the 3rd ODI match.
Additionally, Keshav Maharaj was named as the player of the series. Aiden Markram and Quinton De Knock opened the innings for the South Africa team. Both the players lost their wickets in the early overs of the match. Ryan Rickelton gave the team a stable and fast run rate as he scored 71 runs in 81 balls in which he hit three boundaries and remained not out in the match.
The team lost the third match due to rain and South Africa could not resume the match after 28th over. The results were declared as per the DLS method. Australia won the match by 45 runs. Other players who contributed in the final score of the Match were Aiden Markam 15 runs in 16 balls, Matthew Breetzke made 25 runs in 29 balls, Tristan Stubbs scored 14 runs in 17 balls and Corbin who contributed 13 runs in 20 balls.
Notably, Australian players who dismissed South African players’ wickets were Xavier Bartlett and Adam Zampa both claimed two wickets each.
