The popular American actress and producer Alyssa Milano is trying to grab a seat in California’s Congress. Alyssa is best known for her work in TV shows including, ‘Who’s the Boss?,’ ‘Charmed’ and ‘Insatiable.’ On Tuesday, the actor-activist in a statement said, “I am confirming that it is possible that I will run for office in 2024.”

Alyssa Milano in an interview with ‘The Hill’ clarified that she is keenly interested and desperate to challenge the 4th District Rep. Tom McClintock for his House seat in California. Milano said, “I split my time between Truckee, California, and Bell Canyon, California, and the Republicans have basically had a strong arm there in the 4th District.” In addition, she also said that she would like to potentially flip up the red district to blue.

Since 1992, the district has constantly opted for a Republican as its House member. However, the Democrats were in charge there for 30 years prior. McClintock, in 2003, ran the government in a very unsuccessful way. Notably, he has held his seat since the 2008 election.

However, the decision of Milano is not going yet to happen in time, for the midterms of 2022. Alyssa Milano can not do that and run for Congress quickly. Alyssa Milano also said, “It’s going to take someone with, I think, name recognition and deep pockets to be able to run against McClintock, and so I’m considering it. I’m basically gathering information right now, speaking to different consultants, speaking to the community.”

The actress is highly ambitious and has built a strong history of activism. In addition, she has embraced liberal and progressive causes. Her notable work can be noticed in her, “Sorry, Not Sorry” podcast and likely in her upcoming book of the same name. Also, Alyssa also stood up as an online leader, for the issues like #MeToo and has defended Abortion rights as well. On Wednesday she will rally virtually with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to discuss canceling student debt.
